Wedding Services - Get the Wedding You Want
Want to do your wedding, your way? I can help! I'm Gary Penzler, a licenced wedding solemnizer for the province of Ontario (Canada). I can help you celebrate your special day in your own way, respecting your own sensibilities, rather than forcing you to fit another's mold. My name is Gary Penzler, and I've seen firsthand the difficulty many couples face in getting just the wedding they want.
If you belong to a large and established church and like the way they do weddings, you're fine. But if you follow a smaller faith, prefer something different than what your faith normally does, or follow no faith, you can find yourself with very limited options.
All Seasons Weddings helps address this, and helps to get couples the wedding they want. Since my wife and I had trouble getting the wedding we wanted, when I discovered All Seasons, I knew that I could help others.
As a priest of a smaller faith called Ásatrú, I can perform appropriate wedding services for those of my faith (indeed, to my knowledge, I am the first in Canada to be able to say so), but am also particularly sensitive to the needs of other couples who don't want the standard options of doing their wedding the church's way or waiting in line and bending over backwards to accomodate the secular alternative. Let's talk about how I can adapt to you.
I am happily married with a young son. I live in the Toronto/Hamilton area of Ontario, Canada, and travel throughout much of south and central Ontario for your wedding is no problem.
I have been following the ancient religious practices of the Teutonic tribes, now often called Ásatrú, for a number of years now. I act as gothi (priest) to a local worship group in Hamilton, Ontario. On the way to finding Ásatrú, I encountered a number of different faith systems, and would be perfectly happy to handle secular, ecumenical/spiritual, eclectic Pagan, or Ásatrú wedding services. I would be very proud to help you make your special day all that it can be.
Frequently Asked Questions re Wedding Services
1. Under what authority can you legally solemnize weddings?
I am authorized by the Government of Ontario, through the auspices of an ecumenical multi-faith organization called All Seasons Weddings, an outgrowth of All Seasons Church. I am a priest of Asatru, the reconstructed indigenous pre-Christian faith of the Norse and Germanic peoples of northern Europe, and have a small group that I minister to. Because my faith is held by such a small portion of the population, I am uniquely aware of how difficult it can be to get a wedding officiant who has your sensibilities in mind, not their own. I promise to give my clients the wedding they want, not what my faith would dictate.
2. How much do you charge for your services?
My fees are set by All Seasons Weddings, but are comparable to other wedding officiants in your area. I can put you in touch with All Seasons to check fee levels for your area. Your fee includes your wedding ceremony and one planning meeting (plus whatever e-mail contact is required to finalize your plans and ceremony)--if you want we for a rehearsal, there will be a small additional fee, as that will then be a date when I will not be available for another wedding.
3. Where are you located, and how far will you travel?
I am located in Burlington, Ontario, and am quite prepared to travel. All Seasons Weddings often applies a policy of charging a small amount of expenses if the travel time is more than 45 minutes or an hour, but we can discuss that. Be aware that since I am licenced in Ontario, I can only perform weddings in Ontario for couples with Ontario marriage licences.
4. What dates and times are you available?
I am available most weekend and holiday dates, but you must book me with a good amount of lead time to make sure that I'm not already booked, and so that we have enough time to meet and create just the ceremony you want.
5. How do I book your services?
All bookings are set up through All Seasons Weddings. First you'd contact me, and we'll talk about my availability and what sort of arrangements you'd like to make. Then, you'd contact All Seasons, tell them that you'd like to book me and that we've already agreed on the dates and such, and they'll take care of the rest.

The privacy of your personal information is very important to me. All personal information collected as part of the arrangement and solemnization of your ceremony will be kept in confidence between myself and my authorizing body, and not shared, sold or traded in any way, unless required by government or law enforcement officials.
Each couple will be given a feedback form, part of which will request permission to use a testimonial for the promotion of my services. Testimonials are not mandatory, and only that information which the couple specifically gives written consent for me to use will be used.
